I did find a different Syba card, somewhat more expensive, but with a TI chipset, which we might try ordering. We are somewhat constrained in our choices as these machines require low profile PCI cards, and do not have spare PCI-E slots. Has anyone else had this experience? These have a VIA chipset, as do most of the other inexpensive options available. It's definitely the cards, and we've tried it with multiple Windows 7 Optiplex 760/780 machines running both 32 and 64 bit Win7 - they all crash. The cards cause Windows to bluescreen with a memory parity error, very soon after startup (one card does it immediately, the other after a minute or so). We ordered some Syba low profile PCI firewire cards ( these) for a lab using Dell Optiplex 780s (Win 7) for video capture.
